Garden of Light

All living things on earth need light to grow. Flowers represent a material expression or show of light.  We witness the beauty and the power of flowers, plants and trees as they convert water and light into food for themselves and their leaves. When we stroll in our parks and gardens, the beauty and the serenity can help reduce stress in the body. We have the capacity to be self-reflective, even meditative, when we partake of the beauty of the garden.

Flowers produce a garden of light. Light is often associated with wisdom and truth. The word “enlighten” means to give or receive knowledge or understanding. When people are inspired by new creative ideas, they speak about a light bulb “turning on” for them. If they’ve gained a better perspective on a situation, they say that they can look at it “in a new light”. Light itself is a high frequency or vibration of particles moving very fast. Based on the frequency of light it produces a vibration that the human eye registers in the brain as color.

When flowers bloom they bring a variety of light and color. Colors feed certain parts of our soul and generate certain feelings.

Red brings vitality and carries with it the spirit of physical life and the will to live. It is the color of power.

Orange is the color of self-reliance and positive optimism. It brings compassion and service.

Yellow is the color of focused attention, clarity, and decisiveness. It is the color of new ideas and
creativity.

Green is produced in nature by the sun’s rays manufacturing chlorophyll, and it is a great boost to the heart and enhances the immune system.

Blue is the color of deep tranquility, selfless love and a sense of calm even in chaos. Blue offers consistency and stability.

Indigo is connected to the dramatic, it reflects the need for adventure and discovery.

Purple is the color of royalty and leadership. It represents the realm of possibilities and vision for the future.

Flowers in all their COLOR and LIGHT, remind us of mother earth’s vitality and energy.
